Blue Stars, based in Tennessee, stands apart through its long-standing experience and technical foundation. Co-founded by Dr. William Sen, a software engineer with a background in information sciences, the company’s origins date back to 1996, when web development and online marketing services were first offered to a wide range of clients, including media companies, law firms, medical practices, and construction businesses.
During the rapid growth of the internet between 1996 and 1999, William Sen contributed to multiple digital marketing and software initiatives, supporting the development and delivery of white-label solutions through teams of developers and designers.
Over time, this work expanded to include projects for large organizations and internationally recognized brands such as BMW, Mercedes, Roomba, and Raytheon.
In 2001, Search Engine Optimization was added to the service offering, at the time often referred to as web positioning. This early adoption positioned the company among the first agencies operating in the SEO space.
By 2003, William’s company had secured major clients including Procter & Gamble, managing digital properties for well-known fragrance brands such as Hugo Boss, Esprit, Bogner, and Gucci.

In 2005, William Sen’s company joined forces with a prominent social listening provider, taking a leading role in both software development and SEO strategy. This partnership accelerated growth significantly, positioning the company among the top five providers in the market within just a few years, even outperforming established names such as IBM and Salesforce in the social listening space. A major driver of this success was a highly effective, large-scale SEO strategy.
During this period, the company’s software gained strong recognition, earning praise as a leading SaaS solution for social media monitoring and receiving acknowledgment from respected research organizations. At the same time, William Sen’s SEO expertise supported large enterprises including Bayer, Ford, T-Mobile, PwC, and contributed to SEO initiatives for brands such as DHL, easyJet, Microsoft, Philips, Mercedes-Benz, Swarovski, Sony, Goodyear, Audi, Bosch, IBM, and LG.
As of 2026, the SEO strategies developed during that time continue to play an important role in ongoing digital success. In 2018, William Sen founded Blue Media Marketing, Inc. (Blue Stars in Tennessee) as part of a new phase, continuing to expand SEO and digital marketing services under a new corporate structure based in California & Tennessee.
